The flux compression generator is a charged electro-magnetic coil which is shorted out against another conductor. When it is shorted out its magnetic field is compressed causing and increase in electrical power output. It can put out tera-watts of power in a split second. The military uses it to power high energy weapons and to kill electrical systems. The common man can build it for $400 dollars or less.

Flux compression generator1 This is fired by a bomb.

This flux compression generator is an electrically charged coil with a metal bomb in the middle. When it explodes it creates a running short that compresses a magnetic field. To hook up a fcg for yourself the two connections of the coil goto the power supply or capactor bank. The two outputs comes off the last part of the coil to be shorted out and the other connection comes off what is being used to short out the coil. BE ADVISED THAT WHEN THE COIL IS SHORTED OUT WHAT EVER IS POWERING IT WILL BE SHORTED OUT TOO. IF YOU DON,T UNDERSTAND THIS THEN LEAVE IT ALONG. IN FACT JUST DON,T TRY THIS AT HOME AT ALL TO BE ON THE SAFE SIDE.

Flux compression generator2 This is fired by a piston.

On this flux compression generator the round holes would be a spiral shaped metal groove coming off the coil creating a pathway for the piston to flow and make contact with the charged electro magnetic coil. Now there are also other ways. Switches or relays along the path of the inside coil could be controlled and thrown by a computer to simulate a fast moving running short and the output taken off just like in a regular fcg. Besides the piston liquid metal such as mercury or a special liquid metal mixture could be pulled along by magnetic fields accros the coil causing a running short. That would be less wear and tear besides the piston. There are many ways to make a fcg. Even without the explosives this could still be very dangerous.

Flux compression generator3 This is fired by switches.

Flux compression generator4 This is fired by a plasma.

Self feeding Flux compression This is also fired by a plasma.

startup flux compression generator Free energy fcg. Supplys the power to start a second stage fcg.

A plasma is just a heated gas. It conducts electricty. You can use a cathode and anode to heat the plasma. It only needs to be heated just enough to become a conductor. If the FCG is going to be re-used over and over again to power high energy applications it may be necessary to super cool it with liquid nitrogen or helium and control the firing process. Also, on switches it is possible to use very special switches designed to take a lot of heat. Your not going to find them in your local outlet but switches can be made that use a conducting gas or plasma instead of a metal to conduct electricty. Plasma when it gets too hot turns into a super conductor. If the switches are metal then any metal when it gets too cold also turns into a super conductor. So, super cool with nitrogen or helium if its metal and if it is plasma don't worry about it just make sure it is confined correctly. Super cooling the application might be needed if it is using alot of power. Right now only goverments use these types of generators. Very little is done with these in the general public.
